I'm curious to see what others do to dry inside their ears after taking a shower or swimming, before putting in their hearing aids.   Huh   Ok, go!

Hi all. (I'm new to this forum.) To dry my ears after swimming or a shower, I use a kleenex or similar tissue which I fold in 4 and then roll to a point and gently insert it into the ear canal. Remove then refold and repeat until it comes out dry. Also use cotton buds. But very carefully and gently. I know I'm not supposed to because of the potential to damage the eardrum. But it works well for me.

Not to be disgusting, but sometimes I need to clean inside my ear. Maybe it will help me hear better. Ears don't need frequent cleaning to remove ear wax; in fact, ear wax is an important part of your body's system for keeping dirt, bacteria and other things from causing hearing problems. To properly clean your ears, you can use ear candling, wash cloths, suction or ear syringing/irrigation.

I have holes in my ears and have to wear ear plugs when I shower.  Before that, my doctor advised me to use a solution of alcohol and white vinegar to dry my ears instead of cotton swabs.  It worked as back then I was an avid swimmer.  The vinegar prevents infections by killing bacteria and the alcohol dries up the water.
