Hey guys, I have about 75% hearing loss and wears aids during the day but take them out to sleep.  I live in an apartment complex and my roommate would have to wake me up if there was ever a fire because I sleep right through the high freq alarm.  He's moving out, and while I've notified the office of my situation they aren't the most competent group, especially the night shift.  Does anyone know of some good alarm options for my situation?  Thanks!

I know that there are devices that can be set to make the lights flash when an alarm goes off. If you're worried about when you're asleep in particular, you can do what I do and get a SonicAlert alarm clock and the associated baby cry signaller. You set the signaller so that it will go off when the alarm sounds (you'll have to test it a few times to make sure it's set at the right frequency). The alarm will go off when the baby cry signaller goes off. You can set it for the vibration, lights and/or sound.

Kidde strobe light fire and smoke detector? or something similar...
Also research the possibilities of having a detector hooked up to your home PC, that would trigger an action, phonecall, etc.. same way a motion detector would initiate your webcam to start recording....just a few ideas
Look at this site http://www.silentcall.com/
