Bi-Cros Hearing Aids

Hello everyone!
I'm looking for some guidance on the topic of bi-cross hearing aids. First, a little background.
I'm severely deaf in my right ear. This has been the case since birth. Every once in awhile (say every five years or so) I get the itch to go to the audiologist, get a hearing exam and see if there's anything that can be done about the right ear. I had my most recent appointment yesterday, and the audiologist had asked if I had considered using a bi-cros hearing aid. I had never heard of such a thing, but when he explained how it worked, I was quite interested. The reason he suggested a bi-cros hearing aid is there is some moderate hearing loss in my left ear (my "good ear," as I call it) as well.
The biggest struggles I have are in restaurants, attending seminars, or when we have large family gatherings. My work situation at the moment is okay, but any improvements would be great.
Has anyone uses such a device? What has been your experience with it? Anything I should be watching out for? Anything I should keep in mind?
Thanks for your help!
-Andre

What percentage of loss do you have in the right ear and left?

Hi, I have the same hearing situation with andre1978. Since I've encountered hearing impairment, I am already using hearing aid device. I advice you to visit the "Central Hearing Aid". You can search their website through the internet.

The transmitter hearing instrument (HI) microphone located on your poor ear picks up sound from that side of your head and sends it to the receiver HI located on your better ear. Since the better ear has some hearing loss, a second microphone on the receiver HI picks up sound at the better ear and amplifies all sounds to help you hear more effectively.
